The BlockFacts Approach.
Our BlockFacts Data App provides a unique overall approach to identify the U.S. cities and specific neighborhood/s best matching an individual user's needs and preferences. This is a non-free product which integrates the following steps:
- The user enters into the App's "Bag of Cities" preliminary candidate cities he/she previously and independently identified from best city websites and articles and personal recommendations of friends and real estate pros. Our information on highly-regarded websites might also help.
- Additional cities are then added to the Bag through App tools which identify cities which are demographically similar to another known and loved city, cities with low crime rates and school class sizes, cities rich with blocks/neighborhoods matching the user's desired demographic profile, and cities which are geographically desirable (e.g. with regard to lakes, parks, highways and so forth).
- The App then helps find the single most suitable of these cities through a data-driven process stringently reflecting user requirements.
- And finally, the App helps identify that city's most suitable individual neighborhood/s for the user.
Free Data
We're pleased to also provide access to the following two free proprietary databases - which will entirely meet the needs of many site visitors:
The first database identifies cities which are of the desired size, levels of crime and students-per-teacher, and concentrations of neighborhoods matching a desired demographic profile.
The second database provides extensive information on a selected city – including school and crime data and current and five-year percent change on nine important demographic variables. The city’s comparative rank against all U.S. cities is provided.
