Tool for Identifying Key City Demographics.

Current demographic data can be important in determining a city's suitability for you. And the demographic change over the last five years can provide valuable insight on a city's character (and therefore suitability) in the future. And finally, how a city compares against all U.S. cities can put its demographics in a meaningful context - a context which allows you to actually interpret its demographics in terms of being "low", "average" or "high".

The data below show just that information for any selected city on the following nine variables. If these do not meet your needs - or if you want all-city comparisons to be on a state-specific (rather than total U.S.) basis - contact us to develop - at a modest cost - custom information.
  • Home value
  • Income
  • Percent Bachelor's degree or above
  • Percent couples with kids
  • Percent only English speaking
  • Percent age 59 or over
  • Percent renters
  • Rent levels
  • Population
For each of the nine variables, the table shows the city's current and 5-year change (and how both compare against all U.S. cities), and the current level and five-year change for the total U.S.

Select a state and then one or more cities. To refresh the list of states, unselect any currently-selected cities. Note that the absence of a city can simply mean that we were not able to find usable data for that city. If necessary, rotate your device horizontally for a better view.
